Before the Fall: Remembering the World Trade Center
On view September 9, 2011 – April 28, 2012
New York State Museum
222 Madison Avenue, Albany, NY

The New York State Museum in Albany, NY presents an exhibition that draws on the history of LMCC’s sponsored artist residencies at the World Trade Center. Before the Fall includes the works of LMCC World Views, Studioscape, and Special Projects participants from
1997 – September 10, 2001, including works that were recreated after being lost in the collapse of the North Tower. The exhibit explores these artists’ unique views of and from this famous complex, through works that serve not only as documentation of their experience of working in the World Trade Center, but as a memory of a place that, tragically, no longer exists.

Part of a three-part exhibit that reflects on the significance of the World Trade Center and the effects of 9/11 on the people of New York, the United States, and the world.

Participating artists: Olive Ayhens, Donald Bracken, Monika Bravo, Laurie Halsey Brown, Megan Craig, Dennis d’Amelio, Sjoerd Doting, Joellyn Duesberry, Bart Elsbach, Nancy Friese, Michael Richards, James Sheehan, Sonya Sklarof

Funded in part by RBC Wealth Management

    Dear Francesca,

Each Project thumbnail on the Project Landing page links to a dedicated page for each project, which states the events date, time, and location.
